Welcome!
Hi ladies! I'm so excited about being in a book club. Hopefully this will end up being fun and fulfilling for all of us. Is there anyone that has a particular interest in hosting our first meeting for Bossypants?
I can host at my house. I think it would be nice to do a back yard thing in the summer, but only if everyone's allergies can handle it. We can sit on blankets or at tables, or in a circle, or whatever our bodies might need. I may end up needing to borrow some folding chairs as we only have so many chairs in Palmerville.
I do not think I will be able to take the strong lead in the discussion, as I have loaned out my copy and I read it six months ago. So I do not see hosting as meaning I run the discussion.
That sounds great to me. I'm hoping that we will all enjoy the book enough for conversation to flow freely, but just in case, I would be happy to jot down a few discussion points as I read. Since you are hosting, you DO get to announce the general food theme though! Oh how I love food. Just FYI for those who have not picked up a copy of Bossypants yet, I saw a paperback of it at Target yesterday for $12.00.
